HELLO, I´M QUETZAL

I immigrated to Switzerland at the age of 27 and was strongly attracted to Basel from the first time I visited one of my friends.
I arrived with the dream and desire to continue my path in the arts; with the intention of doing a Masters in Stage Production and working with a professional company, it was a very challenging situation for me.
The cultural change I experienced, the language barrier and the newness of the established structures were challenges.
Time and again, these small crises were a kind of reminder and an opportunity to return to my body and learn how to restore balance.

During this time of new beginnings, immersion and reflection, I practiced kung fu, dance and yoga.

That's how I met another Mexican who was teaching yoga in Basel. Here I found a space where I could move my impressions, breathe them and regulate myself in the face of the challenges of living in a new country and wanting to do it through art.
Yoga became another tool with which I deepened my contact with my body and my inner world.

After a few months, I did a dance project that earned me a scholarship in Mexico, my home country. At the end of the project, my perspective on the direction I wanted to take became clearer.
I wanted to study and take a new path towards one of my interests, therapy, and I was looking for something in which I could combine it with my experience in dance.

During this search, I also started a journey in my being through pregnancy I returned to Basel to embark on this adventure of motherhood and parenting.

"I practiced a lot of yoga and dance during my pregnancy and enjoyed the movement and its therapeutic effects.

I began the metamorphosis, mothermorphosis, transformations in my own skin that were undoubtedly an inspiration to transfer them to the practice of yoga and start as a teacher of Yoga for pregnant women with a deeper, more specific and kind look towards the pregnant body.

I experienced the power in my life physically, mentally and emotionally during these months.

Giving birth to my children was a powerful, revitalizing and inspiring experience that served as a compass for me to navigate the next stage of my life

Motherhood.

13 years ago I attended some yoga classes taking my daughter with me, my desire to move in a group was clear.
During this time, the coordinates of the postpartum classes for women and their children that I offer were already emerging; each class is an opportunity to inhabit the space - body and to offer and receive company - listening to the body with movement and breath.

Therefore, I am interested in providing spaces to share and create dynamic tools that bring wellness to women during this stage and strengthen their physical and mental health.

I took a course in Integral Process Accompaniment at the IBP Institute in Winterthur.
I did a postgraduate course in Expressive Arts Trauma and Embodiment in Barcelona, which complemented and broadened the panorama of how I conceive integral health and the importance of prevention.
I discovered that it is possible to use the arts to intervene in different moments of life and support human potential in the face of challenges and crises while contributing to a kinder and more inclusive social fabric.

This has given me a clearer vision of the holistic therapeutic perspective I can offer you and on this fertile ground, the elements already learned combine to offer accompaniment, listening guidance, classes and workshops.

I am currently doing a complementary training in prenatal and postnatal body therapy, with which I have begun to offer individual and family therapy.
Where we reviewed the imprints of how the first experiences during the first years of our life have left a path, traces that if we review them from this present can be a key to access more directly to our source of vital-creative energy and receive the effects of this reencounter.
If anything I share resonates with you, write me; I am happy to accompany you in your process.
